tom: I guess were here for a while

As you are well aware living in Summit County is extremely expensive. This has been very discouraging for us as we try to find a permanent place to live here. Despite this, over the past year Wendy would say from time to time "I just think God is going to give us a place here in Frisco". Knowing full well how absurd and unrealistic that was, I would just smile and say "sure honey, I hope your right".
This past fall, we were accepted and put on a waiting list for "Deed Restricted Housing" We became aware of some deed restricted housing opening up in Frisco. The price was under $190,000, 1,000 square feet, with a 1-car garage (can you say rare!!)
We inquired into it but unfortunately it was already taken (rats!!). We heard additional units might open up in the future so we prayed. In fact every-time I would drive by the still being built complex; I would pray that God would provide for us a place there. Every month or so I would call to find out if any units had opened up. The response was "Nothing yet sir... we will call you if it does" I think she was getting sick of me!!!
About a month ago, the gal called me and said one of the reserved places had become available, the original buyer backed out and we were able to secure the place. Now every-time I drive by it I thank God for his goodness and provision. Not only will we have a place of our own but also our housing costs will be aprox $300 less then what we are paying for rent now!
This whole experience teaches me a few things. First, trust God, he will provide. Second, Wendy has more faith than me (what a stinker!). Third, it re-affirms that God wants us here for a while. To be completely frank, the thought of moving to Denver, back to Wisconsin or someplace were we could afford to live has crossed my mind just about everyday for quit some time. Now I see that God still has plans for use here in Summit County. Our hope and prayer is for his continued providence and provision in our lives and to be agents of His love, mercy and reconciliation here in Summit County.
